MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 14 Millionaire Maker

UPDATE: I tried to post this before results were complete and missed cashes for Jonathan Hanner and Ryan LaPlante. The post below has been updated, my apologies.


Eighteen Minnesota players cashed in the $1,500 NLHE Millionaire Maker.  Jonathan Hanner achieved the highest place of 125.  This is the fifth cash of series for Ryan LaPlante. This marked the fourth cash of the series for John Marlowe and the third for both D.J. Buckley and Matt Alexander.  Jarod Ludemann, Justin Geronsin, Josh Sexton and Jared Koppel each earned their second cash of the series.

This raises the series earnings for MN players at the 2016 WSOP to $522,885.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 12 $565 PLO

Ryan LaPlante of Brainerd won WSOP Event 12  the $565 PLO event.  This marks LaPlante's forth cash of the series and his first bracelet.  Six other MN players cashed in this event.  It was the third cash of the series for John Marlowe and the second cash for D.J. Buckley and Matt Alexander.



This brings the total earnings for MN players at the series to a whopping $452,023.

Event 11 was the $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed event.

No MN players cashed in this event leaving the total earnings for the series at $254,304

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 10 NLHE 6-Max

Ryan LaPlante of Brainerd earned his third cash of the series after finishing 176 in Event 10 the $1,500 NLHE 6MAX.

This makes the total earnings for MN players at the 2016 WSOP $254,304.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 9 Heads Up

Event 9 was the $10K NLHE Heads Up Championship.  No MN players cash.

The total earnings for MN players at the 2016 WSOP remains at $251,921.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 8 HORSE

Four Minnesota players cashed in Event 8 - $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.  Penh Lo finished highest at 72.  This is the second cash for Penh Lo, Ryan LaPlante, and Thomas Koberoski, all of whom also cashed in the Colossus.

This breaks the quarter million mark with total earnings for Minnesota players now at $251,921.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 7 Triple Draw

John Marlowe of Saint Paul finished 11th in Event 7 - $1,500 Deuce to Seven Triple Draw, taking home $5,781 for the effort.  This is Marlowe's second cash, having also cashed in the Colossus.

This brings the total earnings for Minnesota players at the 2016 WSOP to $242,077.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 6 $1,500 NLHE

Five Minnesota players cashed in 2016 WSOP Event 6 - $1,500 NLHE.  Erick Wright of Shoreview finished highest at 78th.  Erick Wright, John Pierce, and William Perpich  all earned their second cash, all previously cashing in the Colossus.

This brings Minnesota total earnings for the 2016 WSOP to $236,296.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 5 Dealers Choice

James Johnson of Princeton finished 16th in Event 5 the $1,500 Dealer's Choice earning $5,041.

 This brings the total earnings for MN players at the 2016 WSOP to $214,033.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Events 3 and 4

No Minnesota players cashed in Event 3 the $10K Seven Card Stud Championship (not sure any played). 

Also no MN players cashed in Event 4, the $1K WSOP.com event.

The total earnings for MN players at the 2016 WSOP remains $214,033

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 2 Colossus II

Event marked the second iteration of the Colossus where. 50 Players from Minnesota cashed.  The $565 event drew a staggering 21,613 entries.  Hank Mlekoday  of Minneapolis had the highest finish in 16th place earning $44,740.  Ryan Hoberg of Andover and Josh Sexton of Ramsey also earned more than $10K.  Also of note, Brian Soja cashed in this event making him 2 for 2 in the series.

This makes a total of $214,033 for MN players in the 2016 WSOP.

MN at 2016 WSOP - Event 1 Employee

I'm going to post brief write ups for MN players at the 2016 WSOP.  I always love to promote anything with Minnesota Poker.

We start with the $565 buy-in employees NLHE event.  Three MN players cashed in the field of 731 players.  Brian Mikesh of Little Canada made the final table, finishing in fifth and taking home $16,380.  Brian Soja of New Brighton finished in 17th earning $2,517.  Paul Kelly of Albert Lea  finished 22nd earning $2,066.

This makes a total of $20,891 for MN players in the 2016 WSOP.

Congratulations to those players, a great way to kick off the series.
